At Shasta Rock Club, we make it easy and fun for anyone to try climbing. No experience? No problem! Our friendly staff will show you the ropes and make sure you feel comfortable, safe, and ready to conquer the wall.

Check-In: Sign a waiver online before you arrive to save time.
Gear Up: Rent climbing shoes and chalk bag at the front desk.
Orientation: Quick safety talk and bouldering basics with our team.
Climb Time: Start exploring routes designed for all skill levels.
Cool Down: Hang out, watch others climb, and enjoy the community vibe.
Pro Tip: Wear comfortable athletic clothing that lets you move freely.

What you’ll need:
Climbing Shoes – Designed for better grip and performance.
Chalk Bag – Keeps your hands dry for a better hold. (Optional)
Other Items – Water bottle & snacks for breaks. Possibly nail clippers.
All rental gear is sanitized after each use.
First Visit Costs
Day use:
Day Pass: $18
Youth / Discount Day Pass: $15
Shoe Rentals: $5.50
Private Lesson: $25 (30 Minutes) or $40 (1 Hour)

Is climbing safe? Absolutely! Here’s a few things to expect on visit:
Padded flooring throughout climbing areas.
Staff trained in bouldering safety and spotting techniques.
Beginner-friendly routes marked by color.

Frequently asked questions:
Q: Who can climb?
A: Anyone! You don’t have to be an athlete (or even in shape) to be a climber. We have no age restrictions but <12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Q: What kind of clothes should I wear?
A: Clothes that are comfortable and allow you to move freely. Flexible sports wear or loose fitting clothing are good, just don’t have it too baggy. Climbing shoes are required, don’t worry, we have them available for rent.
Q: Do I need to book ahead of time?
A: Nope! Walks in are preferred, but you can book online if you desire.
Q: Are there ropes?
A: There are no ropes at this gym. Bouldering just means there are pads and shorter climbing walls. So you’re still safe even without the ropes! And yes, we do plan on having ropes in the future!

What is bouldering?
Indoor bouldering is a form of rock climbing that takes place on shorter walls without the need of ropes or harnesses. Climbers navigate challenging routes, or "problems," that make climbing more fun and help build strength, balance, and problem-solving skills.
