House Rules
Bouldering is dangerous. All falls are ground falls, therefore climbers should understand and practice proper falling techniques
All climbers must sign a waiver and receive a safety briefing before climbing in Shasta Rock Club for the first time.
All climbers must check in before climbing or using gym equipment
Jewelry should be removed before starting to climb
Participants are advised to empty pockets before climbing
Climbing shoes must be worn while climbing
Climbing shoes may not be worn into restrooms
Climbers should be warned that climbing holds may spin or break at any time in the gym. Inform staff in the case of a questionable or loose hold.
Be aware all climbers and spectators and all fall zones
Do not walk or climb in another climbers fall zone.
Equipment (ie. Water bottles, chalk, shoes, etc.) should be removed from climbers’ fall zones. Personal items should be kept off the mats. Cubbies are provided in the back of the gym for storage of personal items
No flips, cartwheels, or other acrobatic/gymnastic moves. The pads are for protection from climbing falls.
Immediately report unsafe activities to staff members.
Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.
Climbing privileges may be revoked at any time.
Routes should be down climbed. Please refrain from jumping off the top of the wall.
Children at Shasta Rock Club
We LOVE having your kids at Shasta Rock club! When you bring your children, please respect the following rules and understand they have been carefully developed with the safety of the kids and other climbers in mind.
Children under 12 years old must be accompanied & supervised by an adult at all times
Children under 14 years old may not be in the work out area or use any of the equipment at any time.
Children under 7 must have an adult with them at the wall while climbing
There should be no running, horseplay, unwarranted screaming, etc. during regular gym hours.
