After School Club Coach

Reports To
After School Club Coaches will report to the Youth Programs Director.
Job Overview
You will be directly involved with the kids in the After School Program providing guidance, coaching climbing skills, helping set and reach goals, and having fun. A successful coach will have a positive personal relationship with the kids and help them grow as a person and as a climber. You will teach, supervise, encourage, and motivate the kids in the program and work towards the program objectives and vision set by the ASC Director.
Schedule
Tuesday & Thursday from 3:15p-5p
Responsibilities and Duties
Supervise and instruct children between the ages 6-14.
Assist in teaching lessons, developing climbing technique, and facilitating activities.
Develop a positive personal relationship with each child under your care.
Provide basic care and support, both physical and emotional.
Guide climbers in setting SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound).
Evaluate the performance of each child and keep them on track towards their goals.
Participate in ASC activities and have fun with the kids.
Ensure that all kids are included and part of a positive fun learning environment.
Provide support to the ASC Director in running the program.
Show up to regularly scheduled program, meetings, and trainings on time.
Qualifications
A preferred candidate will have these qualifications:
18+ years old
High School Diploma or GED.
Previous experience working with children.
Understanding of basic climbing techniques and ability to communicate them.
Patient, enthusiastic, encouraging, and able to motivate and inspire.
First Aid & CPR is strongly preferred.
Legal resident or able to obtain a workers permit.
Must be able to climb to the top of SRC gym walls, and participate in ASC activities.
